In the following podcast, our Project Development Officer – Mark Macleod – is in conversation with Sandy Dow, the Managing Director of William Reid (Forres) Ltd. - a local engineering firm which employed many local people. In the conversation we hear about setting up a company in the 1950s; Board of Trade restrictions, changes in mechanisation and the company expanding from producing portable saw mills to structural engineering and floating pontoons.
